At Merry People, we proudly stand as allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Here in Australia we celebrate Pride Month during February, where across the country we hold Pride celebrations. The biggest one (which you probably already know!) is the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which began as a call for an end to discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community.
Earlier this year, our Merry Team had the exciting opportunity to mark our first official Pride Day!
Our CEO and Founder, Dani Pearce, shared this with our Merry Community:
“I have always been a strong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am in a leadership position and have privilege, so I feel it is important for me to be a voice where I can.
We celebrated Mardi Gras for the first time with our growing team, and it was a special day in the office. We had a conversation around what we are doing to be an inclusive workplace and areas we can improve as our business grows.
Sadly many people in the LGBTQIA+ community still face discrimination when out in public or in the workplace - this is why it is so important for us to be a brand that welcomes you as your authentic self.”
