2020 Planning in Beechworth, Australia
As a brand that celebrates being outdoors, physically being in nature helps us connect with our product and awaken our creativity. When I planned our annual strategy day, I knew somewhere in the country was the ideal location.
We wanted to spend some time in a fire impacted area (from our recent Australian bushfires) so we packed up my little hatchback and drove to a picturesque gold mine town in Northern Victoria - Beechworth!
We stayed in the treehouse at Beechworth Holiday Park, a homely timber house that sat elevated amongst some beautiful old trees within the family-owned park. (I went to school with the owner!)
We woke up to the birds (literally!) and after a trip into town for some coffee and breakfast we were ready to start our day of merry ideas!
Some of the many topics we discussed;
- How did we live our values in 2019 and how can we continue to live them in 2020
- How can we be more sustainable in how we work?
- How can we grow our brand in the USA?
At the end of the day, we were exhausted but also really excited about the ideas we shared and the year ahead. We were ready for a well-deserved dinner and an early night!
In the morning we drove to visit three of our stockists; 7th Pocket in Yackandandah, Di Billiet in Albury & a new stockist, Rees & Rees in Wangaratta before a long drive back to Melbourne.
Thank you to everyone who recommended places for us to spend our time & money.

The high country is one of many regions that faced a downturn in holiday trade over the summer bushfire season. If you’re looking for something to do one weekend and can afford to visit impacted areas, Beechworth is a beautiful part of Australia for a getaway.
